Deciding where to stay can be one of the more overwhelming aspects of planning a trip.  Seward, Alaska has a variety of accommodations for you to choose from for your visit, and the following resources should help you decide.  You can stay in town, within walking distance of attractions and activities, or stay in the outskirts or outside of town.  Properties vary in size from larger hotels to a 1 bedroom cabin.  Adventure seekers will enjoy more remote options, and campers have several locations to choose from.

Seward is fairly small in size, with most activities within a 2-mile area, although many of the lodging options are outside of "town" and require that you have your own transportation.  The map feature can help you narrow your search, and there are are few considerations that can help you make your final selections:

  • Are you looking for a historic-style property or do you prefer newer construction?
  • Do you want to be within walking distance of restaurants or other activities that you plan to participate in?
  • Do you want an ocean view?
  • Do you prefer a quiet, wooded location?
  • Do you want an eco-friendly or green-certified experience?
  • Are you interested in getting away from it all with a remote cabin or lodge?
  • How large is your party and do you require a common gathering area for your group?
  • Do you have your own transportation?
  • Does your traveling party include children?
  • Are you a member of the military?
  • Do you want food service available on-site or are you seeking kitchen facilities to prepare your own?
  • Are you looking for a longer-term rental with limited services?
  • Are you planning to stay in Seward during peak periods: July 4th; during the Seward Silver Salmon Derby; or on evenings before/after a cruise ship arrival?
  • Are you traveling between October and April?
